The Bamboo Project

The purposes of NHC want to help all people in Mondul 3 have good education; good healthy and they can help themselves.

Last week we got many volunteers from The Bamboo Project come to help us as they built a water well for a poor rural family, a pregnant mother looking after her two adorable daughters in unimaginable poverty (really makes you think about how easy it is to turn on the tap).

They also planted 8 fruit trees in the hope that with her new found supply of water she can start growing and making a little more money to help support her family.

To finish off the volunteering, they went to clean up the mess and how a plastic stool got broken.

We would like to say thank you so much for all kindly guys from The Bamboo Project that support NHC and also support poor people in Mondul 3. You are the best guys. Good luck for your future!!!

Floating Village Tour

Floating village tour is tour to see people life's on the Tonle Sap Lake. This village called Kompong Khleang village.

Kampong Khleang is located on the northern lake-edge about 55 km east of Siem Reap town, more remote and less tourist than Kampong Pluk. Visitors to Kampong Khleang during the dry season are universally awestruck by the forest of stilted houses rising up to 10 meters in the air. In wet season the waters rise up to one or two meters of the buildings. Like Kompong Pluk, Kompong Khleang is a permanent community within the flood plain of the Lake, with an economy based in fishing and surrounded by flooded forest. But Kompong Khleang is significantly larger with nearly 10 times the population of Kompong Pluk, making it the largest community on the Lake.
