New Hope Cambodia, 2015 Calendars.

My name is Chanroum, my nic name is Chance. At 10 months of age I contracted polio and have never been able to walk. When I was 12 years old a man from a non government organization visited my village and gave me my first wheel chair. Living with a disability in Cambodia is not easy.

I have worked at New Hope Cambodia for 3 years as a receptionist at the health clinic.

I am very exciting that New Hope Cambodia has started its own Disability program to provide hope and support to people who have a disability. I am the consumer representative on the Disability Program Steering Committee. This role helps me with my leadership skills and to understand more about disability.

We need funds for the Disability Program to buy equipment, house modifications, and therapy support so we are selling 2015 calendars to help raise money. All proceeds go to New Hope Cambodia Disability Program. The calendars are $8 US each. If you would like a calendar please email Aymi (aymi100@gmail.com) with your postal address and she will reply with payment /shipping details to your country.

81th of Rice Drop Day

The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.

Every second Friday of the month, NHC always do the rice drop day. It's always busy, work hard, tired and also happy day. Moreover, it’s really amazing work because we can help many poor people that they can’t help themselves.

On Friday last week, New Hope Cambodia Organization had done the rice drop day for 348 poor families. The families number more increase every month as outreach department is responsible for families’ sponsorship. All families sponsored came to get their rice, sauce, soy sauce, groceries and amounts that they got depend on the size of their family. Staffs and volunteers helped villagers carry the rice to outside the gate because as you know the rice is heavy that villagers can’t carry by themselves.

We would like to say thank you so much to all NHC staffs and all volunteers for your kindly hear. We hope these activities will bring new experiences for volunteers and you can more understand what New Hope doing. Especially thanks to all supporters for your donation.

Volunteers Last Day

Life seems sometimes like nothing more than a series of losses, from beginning to end. That's the given. How you respond to those losses, what you make of what's left, that's the part you have to make up as you go.

On Friday last week, we got many lovely volunteers leave who were working in the difference
departments as in the school, clinic and also the outreach department. It was so sad day for our children and all staffs. Their inputs have been amazing for us.

Thank you to SHAY SEGAL, LUCY MURPHY, HUGH NEERHUT and G Adventure’s group that spent your valuable times, your money and also everything for NHC. We hope you can learn a lot of thing from New Hope Cambodia, especially from Siem Reap and hope to see all of you again someday. We will miss your smile and your lovely action. Good Luck :)
