It is traditional in Cambodia for schools to hold a party for all the children to celebrate Khmer New Year & we would like to provide this opportunity for the children of New Hope Cambodia on Friday 10th April.

We have 46 groups of children attending classes Monday to Friday between 8am & 6pm with the total number being 1067.

Parties are not something common to the kids living in the impoverished communities such as those New Hope supports so is the one time of year we try to provide some fun for these deserving kids.

As you can see from the photo’s, food, drinks, games & just time to enjoy themselves is the only order of the day but unfortunately we are not always in a financial position to put on this event.

Last year’s party was sponsored by two very kind Australian’s, Noel & Colleen but this year we are seeking support from anyone who would like to help by requesting a donation of $75 per class which will give these kids a wonderful & memorable time.

If you are able to help please click on the Link below which will take you directly to the Donations link on our website. Please enter NYP in the donations description section.

Thank you for your support & we will be posting pictures of this year’s party on our Facebook page following the event.

Disability Program.

4th march 2015

Since NHC launched its Disability Program in December 2014 there has been some exciting developments with the program. Currently the staff of the Clinic and the Outreach Team have commenced the first round of Disability Awareness Training. Training is over three sessions and will be delivered to all staff at NHC over the coming weeks. The training package was developed by Australian Volunteers Libby Cregeen and Deb McGrath. Libby who has worked in the disability sector in Australia from many years came to NHC specifically to work with the disability program to develop and deliver the training. Libby said “the staff were eager to learn about disability and really engaged in the training”. Libby is being supported by Mr Keo Vichtyea, a NHC khmer staff member with a real passion for training and disability.
